THE OLD OR THE NEW: WHICH COVER DO YOU PICK?

ALWAYS FRIDAY is one of my favorite books, but it isn’t selling as well as most of my other ebooks. I love the purple cover with the peacock earrings (as well as the designer who created it), but now I don’t think it conveys the idea that this is a humorous contemporary romance–or even a romance at all. What do you think? I’ve come up with another cover for the story, which I think conveys the playful adventure and the love, laughter, and a little sizzle notion as well as the Galveston, Texas, setting. I call the new one “Feet.” (I’m already thinking I should move the title down a smidgen closer to his toes.)

Should I change the cover? I appreciate your input!

You can click on AMAZON to read the blurb for it. Hey, while we’re at it, could the blurb use some punching up? Luckily, my son is a creative director with an ad agency. Maybe I could get him to help revamp it. And If you have any ideas on any of my stuff, I’m all ears and open to suggestion. You can teach an old dog new tricks.

Thanks, y’all!

Quick Cover Contest!

HURRY! CALL ME SIN COVER CONTEST CLOSES SATURDAY, FEB. 23 AT 1:00 pm CENTRAL TIME.

This is the cover for the first book in The Berringer Brothers trilogy.

I’ve fallen in love with designing covers. Many years ago I used to do artsy-crafty stuff, and I didn’t realize how much I missed it until I started coming up with new covers for of some of my back list for e-publishing on the various online sites.

I found a background that I absolutely loved for the cover of Call Me Sin, the second book in my Berringer Brothers trilogy. I also knew I wanted all three books to have big letters on the covers with the characters interacting with the letters. I got that last part right, but then the background I loved suddenly seemed too busy, so I experimented with a color change of some of the print, then with a totally different idea. I kind of like the notion of the old book as the background of the latest version.

In Call Me Sin, the heroine, Susan Sinclair, owns a new and used book store, and the hero, Ross Berringer, is a hunk of a Texas Ranger, dedicated but fun-loving, who has just moved into the townhouse next door. (Ross is the twin brother of Holt Berringer from Big and Bright.) When her ailing grandmother gets ripped off by her caretaker, Susan is determined to find the thieving wretch, and Ross is determined to go along and keep her out of trouble. Guess how that works out? The story is a humorous romance with love, laughter, sizzle, and enough suspense to keep things hopping.

I’m posting below three covers for you to chose from. Please leave your comments to help me make my decision, and I’ll randomly pick a winner (you don’t have to select the cover I end up using). The prize is a free e-book of Call Me Sin for your reading device when it’s published.

BOOK COVER #1 ON LEFT, #2 IN CENTER,  #3 (THE BOOK) ON THE BOTTOM BELOW. TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK.   (The last one is a bit fuzzy because it’s a quick mock up and not a finished cover.)   YOUR FAVORITE? WHY? PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS BELOW. MAYBE YOU THINK I SHOULD TRASH THE LOT AND GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD. THANKS FOR ANY OPINIONS!

UPDATE: BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE, BOTH FROM HERE AND PRIVATELY, ASKED FOR A LESS INTRUSIVE ROSS, I’VE MOVED HIM DOWN ON THE #1 COVER SO THAT THE TITLE IS LESS OBSTRUCTED. THIS ADDITION WILL BE #1b. BETTER?
